Ivan goes to kindergarten

This new year 2010 begins with a new adventure and journey for Ivan.

It is Ivan first time ever going the school attending kindergarten. Going to be 4 years old soon, he attended the kindy just few blocks away from our house. So it was a great convenient to mommy to fetch Ivan to and fro minus the town traffic jam and longer distance.

First day was a great struggle for Ivan. He cried not wanting to go to school when we prepare him in the morning. Then he cried after we left him at the school. Parents were asked to leave the school compound for the school session to start to avoid prolong longing by the children for the parents.

Well after 5 days, things have improve quite a lot. Most of all he begins to like going to school especially the foods and friends of course. Ivan would shared to me each time I came home from work what he ate that day during snack time. And he would said, "I didn't cry
".

A great start of the new year for Ivan.

Christmas at MidValley

My family celebrated our Christmas day window shopping at MidValley, but spent most of our time taking family photos like the rest of the shoppers behind the beautiful backdrops of Christmas festive decos. I like the photo taking moment we spent together.

A night before we celebrated Christmas eve attending our church service and of course giving away gifts to friends.

Going to Alor Setar (Part 2)

Continuing from our family trip to Alor Setar.....

Well as picture speaks a thousand words, I would limit (actually lazy) to elaborate lengthy travelogue in this sequal. After a stop at Ipoh, we went straight to Sungai Petani visiting Soo Pei's aunt thereafter stop at Pendang where we would stay for two nights. The final night were stay at Alor Setar afterwhich we attended a Soo Pei's relative wedding.

Our visit to Alor Setar wasn't so smooth as Reanne was already having fever then Ivan along the stay developed high fever. Anyhow thank God both kids recovered well after returning from the trip.

Hakka Tang Yuan

Today as chinese all around the world celebrate Dong Zhi festival, a must have dish or delicacy is the Tang Yuan. For our family the Tang Yuan is cook with soup that taste salty added with 'pai kuat'. This is Hakka style of cooking of the Tang Yuan. Other dialect such as Cantonese will cook it in sweet taste minus the 'pai kuat'. Anyway there are many varieties nowadays as the delicacy being modernise.

As traditional practise, after eating the Tang Yuan I am 'a year older'. I guess this is one the delicacy women wants to shy away......ha ha ha.

Going to Alor Setar (Part 1)

It has been 7 years we last visited Alor Setar, Kedah (land of paddy field). This round we went there with a load of people compared to our previous trip only Soo Pei and me. You can said that 'expansion' had taken its place since then. We were there to attend a family member wedding.

Thank God for my father in-law for guiding the way since I am not familiar with the local route for Kedah state. And also for my sister in-law Soo Chia for bringing us around Ipoh town when we stop there for a quite lunch break and visit to Gunung Lang.

Both my parents in-law are from Kedah (Alor Setar and Sungai Petani). So also Soo Pei who happen to be born at Alor Setar but raise up at KL. This visit brings a lot of memories to Soo Pei as it has been a quite a while she return to Alor Setar.

Splashing at home (Part 2)

This is a sequal to the first splash with an added participant none other than Sarah Chong.

The threesome pool splashing was really busting with laughter and excitement. Of course under the watchful eyes of the mommy dearest.

What a fun activity for the kids. Not a bad one if you don't have a actual swimming pool. Better than going to the public pool. Well its only for splashing and not for real swimming lesson.
