Mommy conduct art craft for nursery class

Captured a short video on the church sunday nursery craft works conducted by mommy.

It was Soo Pei first time doing such class. Anyhow it was a new programme for the church nursery under sister Sharon Chong's supervision. Mommy have spend quite some time to prepare for the class. Buying the necessary materials, pre-prepare the cut out material for easy stick on. She design and then made a sample.

I would say most if not all the children and parents enjoy the session. Bravo to my missus!

Moving forward

Knowingly and unknowingly, the season of change is setting in. And the theme of change is 'moving forward'. Entering of a new season.

That is what Latter Rain Church, the church that my family attending is undergoing. Our church is litterally moving forward as we will be moving to a new place of worship at Jaya 1, Petaling Jaya. We are currently doing the 'Big Move' as our first Sunday Worship in Jaya 1 is in 30th August 2009.

Just yesterday the worhsip and media team have shifted some major components to the new premises. My buddy blogger Dan'Lion has captured the scene with his ready camera (click here to see). I was busy with others packing, shifting and setting up.

The changes is not only seen in my church but also in my life. The sense to move forward is strong (kinda hard to explain) and it keeps building up in momentum. You just want to make shift from the usual place. Move out from the comfort zone.

Move it, move it!

This Saturday (18 April) 2,000 crowd is expected to participate in the 2009 Easter March in Kajang town.

The march is a combined effort of 23 main and independent churches of various denominations around the Hulu Langat district. The aim is to seek God’s blessings, protection and provision for the district, the state of Selangor and the nation as a whole, with emphasis on unity and good governance.

Themed “One Body, One Spirit, One Lord”, the march will start at 3pm at the Holy Family Church on Jalan Gereja after an opening prayer. It will end at 6pm following one hour of prayer, worship and fellowship at the Holy Family Hall.

Priests, pastors and church elders would lead the march, which was open to all, young and old. The colour code for the afternoon will be red T-shirts.

The 2009 Easter March will be the 14th of its kind. It was held annually but since 2005, the march has been held biennially. The march was initiated by the Kajang Assembly of God (KAOG).

The searh for corns

I was looking for corns to be make available for this coming Saturday Children Ministry's teacher get together BBQ. Have tried at Jusco near my working place but not available. So decided to give a try a the next option - Pasar Borong Puchong which also near my working place. And finally found it :)

It's my first time visiting the market. Very big space with a lot of mini and individual stalls. I bought the corns with very reasonable price from a Malay mak cik. I foresee I will be coming more often to do 'marketing'. Hmmmm......

Musical Evangelism

Just now we attended my parents's church Assembly of God chinese session musical evangelism event with special guest Dr. Yap Chen Sing from Earth Productions (www.alltheearth.org). The meeting was conducted in Mandarin.

The whole event was conducted by the group itself including worship, song presentation, testimonies and sermon lead by Dr. Yap. This group uses their musical talents and skills to promote, spread and evangelise the Good News to others. They even have produced several albums already through their own production house. Great to know and see such people with the love of God moving in this pillar of music to win back people to Christ.

Call of duty

I was on duty last Friday evening to do video recording for church seminar on Apostolic Leadership by Pastor Joseph Bowes. Pastor Joseph is from Australia and an old acquaintance of Pastor Dexter.

I reached PJ quite early about 7pm. So went for dinner on my own at the nearest restaurant. Didn't want to eat the regular staff so went to an indian restaurant, Kanna Curry House which is just a stone throw away from church. Quite a while I didn't dine there. Ordered a chapathi, one curry chicken dish as accompaniment and masala tea. Total RM9.30. Looks simple but the price tells you otherwise. Nevertheless I enjoyed my food........alone.
I setup the video camera together with Olivia the sound engineer of the day for getting ready to shooting. It has been two month plus the last I touch the video camera. While I record, I also listening to the topic being shared by Pastor Joseph. My duty on that day was blessed and worth while one. I also managed to have a chat with Pastor Joseph at the end of the session. Turns out both of us has a common background, construction as he formerly a Mechanical and Electrical engineer before being full time pastor.
As we serve, God will definitely bless us when we take up the the call of duty.

Children Ministry's Teacher BBQ

It was a beautiful Saturday evening when the sun just starts to change shift for the day. Setting was done at Miracle Villa balcony where teachers together with Ps. Dexter and Elijah gathered for sharing and brain storming session to improve and assess the current Children Ministry development.

At the beginning the meeting looks more like a culinary testing or talent hunt some sort as each individual teacher were unconsciously and randomly being surveyed how able they are handling cooking skills.

Nevertheless we have good times BBQing, eating, fellowshipping, sharing and brain storming. Thanks for Marylin for organising the event and Ps. Dexter and Elijah being the host and speaker.

Father's Day

This year I celebrated my 2nd Father's Day since Ivan was born followed with Reanne.

What makes this year extra special beside having Reanne celebrating with me, this round I received a gift from Ivan (with thanks to Auntie Sally who guided Ivan to find me in front of all the church's fathers). The gift was the rock which Ivan and me painted during the Sunday School (refer my previous post). We painted a rat. The other rock was painted by other children.

This year we saw a few new fathers stepping in front receiving the honour and blessing from the church such as Seng Woo, Joshua and my brother Silas. I'm sure they are excited about the joy and their new experience.

We were blessed by the church for acknowledging the father's role and praying for us to be in the likeness of our Heavenly Father. Click here to read more of the Father's Day tribute from none other than our 'spiritual father' Ps. Dexter shared by Elijah (posted by Rachel).
