Lost and Found

As I drove up to Penang yesterday in my loooonnggg hour cross states journey, I filled my loneliness with the radio's music. I got a bit of problem though. You see, as you journeyed few states the radio station frequency changes. So I was a bit annoyed la....

But something cheers me up. I stumbled upon a long lost and familiar voice while I searched among the radio frequencies.

Remember Caroline, the ex-DJ voice of Lite FM - Lite Breakfast together with Simon? Caroline now is at Capital FM 88.90 radio station. Co-host the Capital Breakfast program with new partner Richard.

Great to hear her voice again.

Loooooong distance

Yesterday I did an incredible 700 km (roughly) long distance drive to Bukit Tambun, Penang for sit in a meeting with my colleague there. The distance between KL and Bukit Tambun is about 330km not to mention KL to Kajang which about another 26km.

It was my personal record breaking day. I drove a total about 9 hours of steering control experience in a V6 Perdana (company car).

The irony is that my meeting only last about 2 hours. Then off I drove back to KL again that same day.

By the time I reached home is about 8.30pm and I started to feel exhausted.

Nevertheless, it was an interesting experience for me in one day!

Eat eat eat at Teluk Gong

Our merdeka final eating marathon reached Teluk Gong, Klang with the full family members on board. None was left out this round. This occasion is specially to celebrate my dad's birthday wish to have seafood at Klang.

All of us were first time here at Teluk Gong. Many have spoke of this seafood 'heaven' only until now we seen and taste it ourselves. Based on my colleague description, we managed to find the place. We arrived about 6pm. But upon arriving, we weren't sure which restaurant to settle in as there is so many of them. The sight of signboards already can confuse you. We finally opt for Restaurant Seafood Teluk Gong Sdn Bhd as advice by my colleague.

As we entered the restaurant, the place quite occupied with costumers. I thought we were early. After ordered our choice dishes, the foods was later delivered out considerably fast. Without wasting time, we commence feasting! By 7pm when we already half way eating, the place was full. The food was quite good and the price also very reasonable bear in mind on peak day. People really travel thus far to this corner of the world to eat. Unbelievable!

Eat eat eat at Taman Mutiara

Our 2nd eating marathon landed at Taman Mutiara, Cheras (opposite Leisure Mall and next to 1-Station cafe) right after Sunday Service with Philip's, Daniel Seah's and Silas' family for lunch. Why this restaurant? (by the way I forgotten its name) It all started when Daniel Seah (blogger a.k.a Danlion.blogspot.com) posted his food blog at this restaurant and it suddenly create a 'craving' among us (bloggers) to try it out especially Rachel. And so we did.

As commented earlier by Daniel, the food indeed is delicious!

We also celebrated Hannah's birthday (which falls on 1 Sept) on the spot unprepared after highlighted by Marilyn. With no cake, we opt for a Yam Cake instead for Hannah. Blessed Birthday!

The marathon continues.....

Eat eat eat at Jalan Pudu

I must admit, my family is on the go last few days on eating 'marathon'. With my parents along, we start our first mileage at Jalan Pudu/Jalan Pasar Road night stalls.

26 years ago this spot was our family favorite dinning spot almost every Saturday or Sunday. I was about 9 years old and Silas about 5 years then when my family stayed nearby at Jalan Chan Sow Lin. I still can remember the good feeling of coming out to eat at that spot.

Last Saturday evening, I decided to re-visit this 'old spot'. And yes, we eat a lot of stuffs. We ordered fried 'loh pak', 'chee cheong fun', 'tong sui' dessert i.e. bo bo cha cha and mak jok, fried chicken, 'loh pak ko' and porridge.
Too bad Silas, Rachel and Sarah not around to join us. (I made it up to you guys next round, ok?)

The food was fabulous la! I am very happy to come 'home' again.

Mountain Break

Great to be back again at near sea level after three days at the mountain - Cameron Highlands. It was pretty cold for me. The rest of my family members did better than me. Even Reanne enjoying herself on her first ever mountain trip. Ivan too was having his good time there given that this was his second time being there.

We went up together with my parents in-law and sister in-law last Monday and stay at Tanah Rata Greenhill Resort. Our entire stay there were greeted with rains. Anyhow it does dampen our plan as our main objective there is to hang loose and relax. Our previous trip (last year actually), we already been to most of the places at Cameron.

The apartment was great with three rooms and readied with cooking facilities. It even has RCI (Resort Condominiums International) status.

We only eat out once at Restoran Ferm Nyonya, Tanah Rata. The rest of the meal was own cook with vegetables bought from the nearby farms. Fresh and great to eat thanks to my father and mother in-law cooking.

It was a refreshing break at the mountain. Fresh air and healthy foods. I will keep this post short and continue later with more photos. So......be patient :)

Tin cow

Only last week I went glossary shopping for Ivan's formula milk powder. Ivan have been consuming formula milk powder since he turned 1 year old. It also that period Ivan was permantly stopped being breastfeed by mummy. Since then Ivan have been drinking Anmum's Essential 1+ (1.8 kg) until now.

During two and half years of faithfully patroning Anmum Essential 1+ has seen tremandous change in the retail price. We first bought it at mere thirty something and now have hike to RM55.50 per tin (hypermarket price is even higher). Hundred over percent of price increase! That's not all, I got to know from the 'tauke' of the regular chinese herbal & minimarket that I patroned Anmum have launched a new packaging. The new packaging biggest range only 1.3 kg but fetch at RM42.90 per box. Average it's about 33 cent per gram. Much expensive than the old packaging (1.8 kg) which average 31 cent per gram (based on RM55.50 per tin). At the surface, the new packaging 1.3 kg looks less expensive and reasonable at RM42.90.

Knowing that, we quickly opt to purchase half a dozen of the old packaging tag at RM55.50 per tin for 'hoarding'. (Not illegal as formula milk powder not under control item). By comparison, we have save about RM23 or 7% from that action. We estimated that it will last Ivan's another 5 months until he turns to 3 years old. Perhaps by than we will opt for another alternative formula milk powder to suit Ivan consumption.

Talk about price increase. Parents nowadays really have to think, plan and act wisely on the aspect of monetary management. Like in this case, be on the know so that can exercise better decision/action on long term basis.
